Hey there! For those of y'all who don't know this already, my husband and I just moved into our first house earlier this summer! We have been having so much fun over the last month unpacking, shopping, and decorating to make this place feel like home. My favorite room in our house is the kitchen because it was the space I got to pick out the most customizations. We were able to choose everything from the wood flooring, to the white subway tile, white cabinets, and the gorgeous grey/white granite countertops and I am so happy with how it turned out! I told myself I wouldn't start decorating seasonally until Christmas since we are new homeowners on a budget- but I did add a few pops of color to my kitchen for summer and wanted to share this little tour with y'all.

In one corner I have my Kitchenaid mixer which I like to leave out because a) I use it often and b) I think it makes for cute decor! Mine is in the shade "almond" and I love the aged/vintage look it gives. I bought a hobnail bowl from Big Lots that fits perfectly and is prettier than the silver bowl it came with, though I can't use this one for mixing since it does not lock into the base, so it is just for show! I added a wood cutting board from Homegoods to hide an outlet and add some warmth to my otherwise white kitchen. The plant is from Homegoods as well and the mini cake stand is from the Target dollar spot. I love adding layers to my decor by using tiered stands and trays.

Our stove area is relatively simple. I try to keep the counter somewhat clear but also functional. My knife block is easily accessible when preparing food and also ties in the other wood elements on the counter. My white teapot is from Bed Bath and Beyond (it was a wedding gift) and the tea towel is from Homegoods.

This little section next to my stove is both pretty and practical. My cooking tools are easily accessible when I am preparing food on the stove top, and I have flour and sugar stored in the jars. The utensil holder and both canisters are from the Hearth & Hand line at Target and the wood serving platter was also from Target. The marble rolling pin and kitchen tools are from Amazon. All items in this display were wedding gifts!

In the far corner, I just have my Magnolia Volume 1 cookbook sitting out on display because it is my only and most-used cookbook. Jojo's chocolate chip cookies are my fave!

On my island I wanted to create a little display that would add some decor but would not take up too much space since I am typically preparing food, washing dishes, or eating at the bar on my island. I created this display using a white cake stand from the Target dollar spot that I had bought for one of my wedding showers. The blue and white vase and creamer pitcher are also from Target. The wooden bowl was a gift from my mother in law that she brought back from Israel and I love the warmth it brings to this corner. The white mason jar was from one of our wedding showers too and it has date ideas in it! The tea towel was also a gift from my mother in law and it has my grandmother in law's biscuit recipe in her handwriting. If you can't tell, I love having personal pieces in my home that have a story to tell.

For summer, I'm livening things up with this gorgeous mint green pitcher from Dafi. I love the way the mint color ties in the other greenery in my home. The best part about this pitcher is that it is glass and BPA-free, so your water not only tastes better but it is better for you! The filter is organic and made from coconut shells, not to mention one Dafi water filter cartridge is equivalent to the amount of water that would be in 80 half-gallon water bottles (that eliminates 11 oz of plastic waste!). Mine holds up to 8 cups of water at a time but Dafi offers pitchers in different colors and sizes. I like to leave mine out when I have guests over so they know to help themselves.

Dafi's filter contains an alkaline ceramic bed containing magnesium, silica oxide, zinc oxide, and calcium oxide. These ingredients increase pH and are a source of antioxidants which can slow down aging (sign me up!). Not only are you saving the planet by being less wasteful but you are also doing good for your body when you use your Dafi pitcher. Definitely a must-have in my kitchen!

On my kitchen table I just threw together this centerpiece. My aunt brought over this gorgeous wood board as a housewarming present, and I loved the way it tied in the grey/blue hues from our living room with the warmer wood tones. My candles, candle sticks, and salt/pepper shakers are all from Target. The faux tulips I got on clearance at TJ Maxx and I love the pop of yellow this time of year!

So that's it for this little kitchen tour! Now that we are finally settled in, I know I will be changing things and filling in rooms all in good time. I cannot wait to take your along as we make this house a home!

Thanks for reading!
