5 WINTER WATER INFUSED RECIPES TO TRY THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

Time to move over egg nog. The following five winter water infused recipes will add some extra joy and merry to your festivities.

Drinking infused water is one of the easiest ways to get more nutrients in, simply by adding fresh, festive and in-season ingredients to your water. On top of the health benefits you’re already getting from drinking alkaline water, which has a higher pH level than regular water, adding fruits and spices mentioned in these recipes can also increase your immune system during a time of year we’re more susceptible to colds.

Simply add some flavor to your alkaline glass pitcher, or directly into your own cup or water bottle (add link to refill water bottle that comes with glass pitcher), can give you that triple health dose of increased nutrients, immunity and in a happy, holiday mood.

Heres the how to:

An easy way to create infusions is by adding to your Dafi Alkaline Water Glass Pitcher with recyclable filters (after the water has been filtered) the following combination of fruits and spices.

To note, the infused water is best consumed at room temperature from your pitcher, and after two hours of steeping.

1.Pear + Raspberries + Rosemary

The magic spice in this mix is the rosemary. Rosemary can boost your immune system, is rich in antioxidants, and is known to aide in digestion. Pear and raspberries are in-season fruits, giving the water a touch of sweetness to the mix.

2. Pomegranate + Orange + Cinnamon Sticks

Sweet pomegranate seeds are the best this time of year. Rich in antioxidants and flavor, blend with the sweet, citrus of a sliced orange for a high-dose of Vitamin C. Cinnamon is a powerful antioxidant, helping to stabilize blood sugar, and reduce inflammation. We recommend to use whole cinnamon sticks instead of ground cinnamon.

3. Orange + Vanilla Beans + Cinnamon Sticks

The sweet smells and calming blends of the holidays, this calming mix provides a hydrating dose of vitamin C. Plus, the smell alone of cinnamon and vanilla can immediately calm the senses and the mind.

4. Cranberries + Apple + Orange + Pomegranate

As mentioned above, orange and pomegranates are high in Vitamin C for immunity and skin health. Cranberries have a bit of the same, with a bittersweet twist. We recommend using green granny smith apples sliced, which are made of 88% water and rich in plant compounds, particularly polyphenols.

5. Pear + Pomegranate + Peppermint

This fruit and spice combination is a beautiful winter mix to boost your energy, improve digestion, and freshen your breath. Pear and pomegranate add a sweet, fruity flavor while the peppermint adds a zingy kick of freshness.

As we mention in our previous blog Tips To Stay Hydrated This Winter Season (link to blog post), it’s just as important to stay hydrated during the winter months as it is in the summer season. We hope these five delicious recipes will help add some hydration and holiday cheer to your winter mix.
